ZhangYongzheng’s One Person Exhibition
Having been devoted into discovering and bringing forth new contemporary artists, Beijing New Age Gallery will hold Zhang Yongzheng’s Solo Exhibition on March 8th, 2008(86-10-84599282).
The theme of this exhibition is “Mysterious Rhythm”. It shows the thoughts of the artist, which can be traced back to the source of his own national culture, along with the ultimate care for the existence of man and the harmonious society of today.
“Mysterious Rhythm”, literarily, “Mysterious” means mystical or profound, difficult to express in words; while “rhythm” symbolises the rhythmic movement of lines , suggesting the continuous life force of the universe, mankind and nature.

150x150 | Mysterious Rhythm refers to the mysterious patterns and ways of life, and its characteristic is to draw freely in the manner of calligraphy, using the ancient Chinese “five elements” as colors. It brings everything into a Chinese traditional philosophical perspective, presenting an artistic world in which the “Yin” and the “Yang”, heaven and earth ; the spirit world and the universe interact with each other: coming and going; ebbing and flowing, in a rhythmic manner.
The artist explores the causality between the universe, nature and mankind with the mysterious rhythm of the universe. The artist portrays the vigorous cycle of nature and the earth, time and space, heaven and mankind. This perpetual mysterious rhythm of the universe, along with the universe’s natural physical cycle, illustrate the world view and values of the concept of “harmony between heaven and man”.
This exhibition will present the artist – Zhang Yongzheng’s art completely. This exhibition will make spectators enjoy the artist’s special artistic concept and language, and at the same time, appreciate artist’s retrospects for the source of his own national culture and thoughts for the contemporary era. |
